How to set up

Sign up...

Click clubs.yahoo.com...

See "Create a club" TEXT AT BOTTOM OF PAGE... Text Reads, "Find a category that matches your club, then click on "Create a Club" in the upper-right-hand side of the page."

Our sample... Click CATEGORY "Computers & Internet"...

Click SUB-CATEGORY "Cyberculture"... Click "Virtual Communities"... Then the CREATE A CLUB button at upper right...

Click SIGN ME UP... Fill out USER registration form...

Next screen... Name your club... If appropriate keep club open so other on the Internet can join in...

You will be E-MAILED URL where to access club customization options...

Our sample is at http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/personalizableparticipatoryweb

BEFORE proceeding JOIN THE SAMPLE CLUB to see what it is like...

NOTE if you are not already a Yahoo! member you will first have to click LOGIN... and then SIGN ME UP... Fill out form...

Then GO TO sample...

Click JOIN THIS CLUB in upper right... Click RECEIVE E-MAIL button... NOTE Yahoo! needs to confirm that your email address is valid. After clicking the "Receive Email" button below, they will send you an email with further instructions on joining the club. GO TO YOUR E-MAIL TO GET INSTRUCTIONS... You will get a URL to go to to complete the joining process... Click I ACCEPT... And finally you are in... POST us a message...

Continue with setting up your own club...

EDIT your "Founder's" profile...

See ADMIN TOOLS in left column...

Click EDIT SETTINGS... Customize...

Click CHANGE PHOTO... Upload a club logo or photo from your harddrive...

Explore other ADMIN TOOLS...

Explore the MEMBER TOOLS... You can invite people to join...

Explore OUR PAGES... Options...

This will take about an hour to set up but it is really a great tool to enable participation... Complete with CHAT, a MESSAGE BOARD, a PHOTO ALBUM, a CALENDAR...
