As the middle class continues to fade and in the shadows rich and powerful gain more control let there also be a counter culture and way of life that exists in the light of day. One works in a world of command and control and holds on to, maintains and enhances a legacy that enslaves people and destoys the environment. The other has no organization but simply exists within each individual who takes reponsibility for the making of a better world, who live by and within their own endevours, who respects the culture of others and who lives small and in harmony with the environment. To which do you belong?

By contrast, a stratified society with a thin veneer of wealth atop a growing underclass is an atavistic throwback in the social order. And a disturbing one from my middle-class perspective.
